As someone who travels frequently and is always on a hunt for new cool places to experience I thought that it would be a good idea to share my thoughts on one of the biggest revolutions in the world of traveling – something that has forever changed it for me. It is Airbnb. I absolutely love the concept. I have to say, as someone who just used to stay at the hotels, when I first heard about it I was just a bit skeptical. But after I learned that many of my friends tried it out I thought it was time to be adventurous and try out traveling in a different, more unconventional way.
I tried Airbnb 3 years ago and I never looked back. 🙂 Ever since then whenever I travel I would only book accommodation through Airbnb unless the location required booking a room at the hotel, as staying in the Blue Lagoon in Iceland did. 🙂
I am absolutely in love with the concept of renting a place and experiencing destination from the locals perspective. You have absolute freedom to come when you want, to go to the local grocery store, get the local ingredients, relax, take it in your own way and at your own pace instead of sharing a dining room and lounge are with bunch of people and sometimes screaming kids. 🙂 During the last 3 years we got to stay at some amazing places, at some prime locations and meet people that made us feel as at home. 🙂 One of the absolutely best Airbnb stay we ever had was this summer in Malta. We rented an apartment with a swimming pool on the terrace. It was heavenly, being able to wake up and jump straight from your bed into the swimming pool while having a huge apartment just to yourself to relax the way you want. 🙂 It also made us feel more local. Our host was extraordinary. He even came at 4am to greet us and let us in. 🙂 The apartment could host 4 people and on top of everything it was cheaper than renting a room at an average hotel.
So if you love traveling and exploring new places I certainly recommend Airbnb if you haven’t tried it already. I talked a few of my friends into trying it out and they also absolutely loved it. 🙂
Here are some of the photos from the wonderful apartment in Malta and also some random ones as the dress that I was wearing to a wedding that was a purpose of our trip and one selfie. 🙂
