Today was the most adventurous day ever. We went on a tour with super jeep – a pretty mighty beast that can drive through absolutely anything and everything, even river. 🙂 This version of the jeep is actually specially pumped up for Iceland and it even has had a special Icelandic gear added to it. It was such a unique experience.

We went to explore volcanoes, glaciers, went on the hikes inside the caves and waterfalls, took a break at a small cottage in the middle of nowhere for a delicious traditional lamb soup and ended a day relaxing in a hot-tub in our backyard on -11 Celsius outside. A completely incredible day. I still can’t believe that we got to experience it all. It was so surreal. We had the best tour guide ever who showed us all the secret sights. We booked our tour with South Iceland Adventure and I highly recommend them if you are planning a trip to Iceland. One of the most interesting things today was hearing all the time Oh there used to be a harbor but than volcano erupted and it disappeared or Oh there used to be a river but then eruption happened and it moved…. It is quite fascinating to see how people of Iceland have accepted the fact that nothing is forever and that everything is subject to change. I think that is gonna be one of the biggest lessons I am gonna take with me back from this trip.:)

Now I am off to bed since hiking all the day and taking all the sights left me pretty exhausted but extremely happy so I need some time to process all these beautiful sights.:)
